The Genealogy of Place
“If these walls could talk…”
We’ve all said this while sitting in our own homes, wondering the past that the building has held. Who lived here? Who died here? What did they do for a living? Was this home past down through the family? Why and when were the additions made? How old is our home really – is it from 1920 like the deed says or older?
So many questions that can seem impossible to answer.
In many cases, however, they can be answered. Through census data, wills, probate documents, and copies of past deeds, much can be found about your current or future would-be home.
